Quitting: Knowing When to Walk Away

December 13, 2022 With Jamie & Guy Season 1 Episode 109

Quitting: Knowing When to Walk Away
Show Notes

On this week's episode, Jamie and Guy discuss and review the topic of quitting based on the book Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away by Annie Duke.  They discuss why quitting can be so hard and how to know when to quit.  We often feel pressure from society not to quit because we associate quitting with failure or weakness.  But not everything we set out to do in life needs to be completed. We set goals, but it's ok if sometimes we don't reach them - in fact, it might be better if we don't.  From relationships that went on too long, to college majors we should have switched sooner, to races we should skip to avoid injury - quitting might actually be the best thing to do.  Ultimately, we have a finite amount of time and resources and by quitting one thing it allows us to get on to the next.
