Show Notes

On this week’s episode, Jamie and Guy welcome a very special guest, Dr. Leonard Sax MD PhD.  Dr. Sax graduated Phi Beta Kappa from MIT at the age of 19.  He then went on to the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned both a PhD in psychology and an MD.  He has been continuously certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 1989. He is also a New York Times Bestselling author and has written 4 books about child development and parenting: The Collapse of Parenting, Boys Adrift, Girls on the Edge, and Why Gender Matters. On today's episode, Jamie and Guy discuss the growing gender gap between boys and girls in education (and motivation in school) and how this has been widening over the last 40 years.  From changes in schools that cause disengagement from boys, to video games, to fewer boys getting college degrees, Dr. Sax discusses the causes and what we can do as parents to help our boys succeed.
